Welcome Mr. Travis Howard, PKES Principal

Welcome Mr. Howard
Mr. Howard

Travis Howard, the first Principal of Pleasant Knoll Elementary School, has returned to assume the role of Principal of PKES.  “I’m extremely excited about the opportunity to come back home to the district that I can confidently say is one of the finest and most distinguished in the nation,” Howard says.

Howard first came to the Fort Mill School District in 2005 as a PE Teacher for GHES, and then assumed the assistant principal role for RVES in 2006. Then in 2009, Howard was tapped to lead the efforts of opening PKES, the district’s sixth elementary school. Since leaving the school district in 2013, Mr. Howard spent several years as an elementary principal in Yakima, WA and most recently as principal of an elementary school in Evansville, IN. Mr. Howard received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Winthrop University and holds a Master of Arts degree, concentrating in School Leadership, from Furman University.

“We are excited to welcome Travis and his family back to the Fort Mill area,” notes superintendent Dr. Chuck Epps. “His enthusiasm, passion for innovative learning, and sense of community is clearly evident in who he is as a leader.”

Welcome back Mr. Howard!
