Principal's Message

Mr. Howard

Thank you everyone for an outstanding start to our 2018-2019 school year! We are so appreciative of our partnership. Below are important things we wanted to update you on.

Friday, August 24th is the First Full Day for all Kindergarten students. All kindergarten students should attend on Friday, August 24th.

Tuesday, August 28th is Independence Day. What does this mean? It means that all students will need to ride the bus or stay in the car rider line to be dropped off. Parents will no longer be allowed to walk students to their classrooms. We are also discouraging parents from parking and walking their child to the cross walk. Please use the car rider line. This week we’ve had the car rider lot empty by 7:33 each morning, even with parking. We are confident that if everyone stays in line and drops their child off, the line will move quickly.

Tuesday, August 28th is our PTO Family Night at Scoop & Swirl. Please remember that participating in these events helps our PTO and thus, helps our students. The event will begin at 5:00 PM. The address is  753 Crossroads Plaza, Fort Mill, SC 29708.

Wednesday, August 29th is our Panther Pride Celebration. We will have administrative meetings with each grade level. We will also celebrate our 10th anniversary as a school. We’re asking all students to show their Panther Pride by wearing PKES gear and/or school colors.

Afternoon Dismissal: As a reminder, if you need to buckle your child in, we ask that once they are in the car, you move to the area in front of cone one. This will allow us to continue loading students in other cars. We’ll have a “buckle up zone” sign outside soon. Also, please make sure you have car name tags displayed. We are working each day to improve the afternoon car rider line.

Afternoon Buses: We are continuously working with our transportation department to improve afternoon bus routes. Please let us know as issues arise with transportation. We will communicate issues with our transportation department. Parents are also able to directly contact transportation for questions and/or concerns.
